In a thrilling championship match, North's A team secured their fourth consecutive City Championship title with a commanding 2-0 victory over East, thanks to standout performances from players across the field.
The game opened with intensity as both teams battled for control. East had a golden opportunity to take the lead early on with a penalty kick, but North's goalkeeper Kaylee Carpenter delivered a clutch save, diving to stop the shot and keep the match tied at 0-0. That moment proved to be a turning point, energizing the North squad and keeping the momentum in check heading into halftime.
The second half saw North come out firing. Just minutes in, Jaehee Lee broke through East’s defense and launched a powerful shot into the back of the net to give North a 1-0 lead. Not long after, Aneesha Anand delivered a perfectly timed assist to Izzy Lingenbrink, who calmly finished the play to double North’s lead.
From there, North dominated possession, controlling the pace of the game and denying East any real scoring chances. With strong teamwork and disciplined play, North sealed the 2-0 win and once again hoisted the City Championship trophy. Following the A team’s big win, North’s B team took the field—and wasted no time making their mark.
Angie Nguyen set the tone early with a beautiful goal off a sharp assist from Paula Arconada, sparking a scoring run that East couldn’t contain. Once North found their rhythm, they were unstoppable.
Finleigh Sanders and Fatima Coria each found the back of the net with powerful strikes, while Renata Lara put on a clinic with two impressive goals of her own. Bryce Wilson played a key role in North’s offensive surge, tallying three assists with pinpoint passes that kept the East defense on their heels.
On the other end of the field, Brinley Robinson was a wall in goal. With multiple clutch saves, she secured the shutout and helped seal the dominant victory.
