While the number of school days continues to wither away, on Thursday evening the North Cougars hosted the Cross Timber Wolves to wrap up their regular season schedule. Looking at the results from both teams, this matchup appeared to be quite even on paper... and it proved to be just as even on the pitch as well.

In the A game, both sides looked to apply pressure and push possession forward. And at times, both the Cougars and Wolves found success doing so. Keepers on both sides were also on point; limiting the scoring opportunities in what would end up an extremely tight game. It was the boys from Cross Timbers who finally found the net early in the second half to take a 1-0 advantage. And despite an intensive push to even the match, the Cougars just couldn't find an equalizer as the clock ran down... and the Wolves finished off the slim victory.

Looking to the second matchup of the evening with the B teams, North came into this final game of the season having already wrapped up the district title and hoping to nail down an undefeated season to boot. However, the storyline was very much a sequel to the A game... and both sides were still searching for an offensive explosion. But once again, it was the Wolves that found the way to the back of the goal... and they were able to make that single goal hold up just like the game before. Despite the loss, the North B team ended up with a strong season overall sporting a 25--3 overall goal differential.
