The Coppell Middle School North Cougars had a huge game against their crosstown rivals, the Coppell Middle School East Broncos.
The Cougars (A-Team) came out with fire and controlled the clock on their opening drive, marching down the field for the entire first quarter. They continued the drive into the second quarter and finally found the end zone to take an early 8–0 lead. Unfortunately, the Broncos answered just before halftime, tying the game at 8–8 heading into the break.
After some adjustments at halftime, the Cougars came out re-energized and dominated the second half. The defense, led by linemen Alex Garcia and Matthew Castaneda, put constant pressure on the quarterback, keeping the Broncos’ offense on its heels. On the offensive side, running back Jeter Brito delivered several key plays when the Cougars needed them most. North went on to take down the Broncos with a commanding final score of 32–8.
The Cougars (B-Team) also came ready to battle their rivals and delivered an impressive performance. The first half was tightly contested, with both teams trading stops and neither able to pull away. The lone touchdown before halftime came from a long run by quarterback Gautham Muresh, giving North a 6–0 lead.
The defense was outstanding, holding the Broncos scoreless for the entire game. Soren Mehta came up with a huge interception, while Marco Ramos electrified the crowd with a punt return for a touchdown. The Cougars capped off the night with a dominant 18–0 victory over the Broncos.
