8TH GRADE
North traveled to West for its first games of the season, and the Lady Cougars wasted no time showing they were ready to compete. Each team brought its own energy and style to the court, and the evening ended with a clean sweep against the Wranglers.
C TEAM
Grace Croley got the party started, firing off six straight points from the service line to give North an early spark. Riley Fletcher followed with some serious power of her own, adding four points from the service line. Abby Sauer was a playmaker all over the court, helping keep the offense moving, while Aspen Bingham caught fire with six consecutive service points.
Then it was Brooklyn Vaughan’s turn to take over! Vaughan closed out the opening set with an incredible eight straight serves, helping North dominate the first set with a 25–5 victory.
The second set proved to be a tougher battle, but North’s chemistry was on full display. Players throughout the lineup contributed from the service line, while Ana Paula Jugo brought the attack from the outside. Bingham added one of the highlights of the night with an amazing back-row attack that helped keep the momentum on North’s side.
North finished the job with a 25–17 second-set victory, completing the sweep and earning its first win of the season!
? Player of the Game: Grace Croley
Croley set the tone from the beginning and never let up. She was the vocal leader on the court, constantly communicating with her teammates while making difficult plays look easy. Her energy, leadership, and all-around effort helped lead North to an impressive season-opening victory.
Final: North wins 25–5, 25–17

B TEAM
The B team closed out the night, and they may have saved the most exciting match for last! North and West went back and forth all night, with neither team willing to give an inch.
Keira Muliyil came up with an incredible pancake save, while Berkley Hoerman was serving up “kills” and putting constant pressure on West. Isabella Johnson came up huge from the service line, scoring seven points, while Layla Stevens was outstanding with her aggressive play in the front row.
With the opening set coming down to the wire, North stayed composed and found a way to finish, pulling out a thrilling 25–23 victory to take Set One.
The second set brought even more drama. North found itself trailing and struggled early to break West’s serve, but the Lady Cougars refused to fold. Sophia Shortino was tremendous at the net and also stepped up with great passes from the back row, while Kaylan Brown was all over the front row, attacking and keeping West on its heels.
Then came the turning point.
With North trailing 18–15, Muliyil stepped to the service line and completely changed the match. She delivered an incredible eight straight service points, turning the deficit into a North lead and bringing the energy on the court to another level! Stevens then helped close the door as North completed the comeback and secured the victory.
? Player of the Game: Mica Ramos-Cho
Ramos-Cho was the engine of North’s offense all night. She consistently put her front-row attackers in great positions with excellent sets that led to multiple kills. When she rotated to the front row, she even added some kills of her own. Her ability to create opportunities for her teammates while contributing in multiple ways was a huge part of North’s victory.

A TEAM
The season opener provided an opportunity to identify holes in North’s offense and defense, highlight fundamental areas of focus, and establish priorities moving forward. More importantly, it gave the team a chance to get their feet wet, build chemistry with their teammates, and shake off some of those early-season nerves.
The first set started slowly but ended with a 25–16 victory for the Cougars. Setter Clara Champagne went on a serving spree, racking up 10 points and countless aces for her team. Maddie Snelling, a six-rotation player, was pivotal in both defensive coverage and offensive play. Adelaide Vasquez showed resilience on defense with steady passing and a calm demeanor.
The second set proved to be a closer battle on the scoreboard but ultimately ended in another North victory, 25–19. Lily Bordelon scored 10 straight points for her team from the service line, each serve more aggressive than the last. The Wranglers had a difficult time handling Lily from the end line, giving North the momentum it needed. Myla Mott also showed out as a pin hitter with impressive form, consistency, and power.
While there is still work to be done to find the perfect fit for the A team, they showed plenty of potential in their season opener and contributed to the program’s clean sweep, adding another tally to the win column.
? Player of the Game: Suin Cho
Cho was a steady force at the net as a middle blocker while also making an impact in left-back defense. She consistently showed her willingness to chase down difficult balls, diving to keep plays alive and providing the steady presence her team needed.

7TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL:

A CLEAN SWEEP AGAINST THE WRANGLERS!
All 7th grade teams battled hard, played with energy, and showed us exactly why this group is so exciting. There is still plenty for us to clean up and improve on, but the talent, determination, and potential in this group are undeniable. This is a special group, and we are just getting started!

C TEAM
The Coppell North Cougars delivered a dominant performance against cross-town rival Coppell West, securing a decisive victory in two straight sets with final scores of 25-22 and 25-15.
From the opening serve, the Cougars displayed seamless teamwork and sharp floor defense. Kinsler Holloway set the tempo for North, anchoring the backline with exceptionally well-executed passes and delivering a series of high-pressure serves that kept West off balance. Her clutch performance, non-stop hustle, and defensive consistency earned her Player of the Game honors.
Taryn Hubble proved vital in keeping the offense flowing, delivering a steady stream of perfect passes into the hands of playmakers Tia Khatua and Evelyn Radack. Khatua and Radack capitalized on the opportunity, setting up precision plays that allowed the Cougar hitters to attack with authority.
When it came to serving, North proved virtually unstoppable. Radack, paired with the powerful serve routine of Paige Deahl and Leah Park, controlled the tempo at the line. Their hard-driven serves repeatedly disrupted West’s offensive setups, pushing the opponent into tough transitions and leaving them trailing through both sets. Coppell North continues to build strong momentum as they charge ahead in their season.

B TEAM
In an electric cross-town rivalry matchup, the Coppell North Cougars showed incredible resilience to pull off a thrilling comeback win against the Coppell West Wranglers, bouncing back from a tough first-set loss to seal the match 25-13 Loss, 17-25 Win, 7-15 Win.
After dropping a tough opening set, the Cougars refocused and reset in the second set behind a steady defensive passing core led by Charlotte Britt, Lona Lester, and Ava Varela. Varela, today’s birthday girl, pulled double duty by handling crisp backline passes while running a dynamic offense alongside Avery Carpenter. Together, the setting duo delivered clean, beautiful sets to feed the Cougar hitters.
Up front, Julia Hamon dominated the net, extending high, to shut down West’s hitters with blocks at crucial moments. Strong hits by Mia Reveruzzi also left an unmistakable mark on the Wranglers, powering up the Cougars.
From the baseline, the trio of Evelyn Radack, Paige Deahl, and Leah Park kept West entirely off-balance with relentless, hard-driven serves that consistently disrupted the Wranglers' offensive setup.
With the match tied at 1-1, Player of the Game Avery Carpenter took complete control in the deciding third set. Carpenter set an aggressive tone right out of the gate, dominating the baseline with a string of unstoppable ace serves to fuel a decisive 15-7 run, completing an unforgettable comeback victory for the Cougars.

7A TEAM:
The 7th Grade A team came out strong and immediately showed great teamwork and energy on the court! They communicated, encouraged one another, and battled through every point. Gillian Gamet had an outstanding night! She finished with 3 aces and was a consistent performer in both serve receive and defense. She brought stability to the back row and helped keep the team in system when the pressure was on.
Aubrey Mechsner finished with an incredible 6 aces and 5 kills, including a streak of tough serves throughout both sets that kept the Wranglers on their heels. Her leadership, confidence, and energy on the court made a huge impact!
Other key players included, Juju dominated at the net! Her aggressive play and 3 kills helped ignite the team and raise the intensity in the second set. Evelyn Kettler had several assists and began to transition on defense and was a play maker. All the girls contributed to the team's success in the first game of the season winning in two sets 25-21, 25-7.
But beyond the stats, the biggest win was seeing these girls play together. They celebrated each other, picked each other up, communicated, competed, and — most importantly — HAD FUN!
