8th C Team
North’s C team was looking to close out its season with one final victory! Unfortunately, things did not start the way the Cougars had hoped, as Cross Timbers took the opening set 25-10. But if you know your Cougars, you know they were NOT going down without a fight! And boy, did they FIGHT!

The second set was a completely different story! Aspen Bingham got the party started with TWO incredible saves to keep a rally alive and give the Cougars some much-needed momentum! From there, Ana Paula Jugo, Elliot Jones, Bao Tran, and Sophia Shortino all stepped up with multiple aces to help North take control! The Cougars came roaring back to win the second set 25-17 and force a third and deciding set!

With the match on the line, both teams left everything on the court! The third set was an absolute battle, with neither team willing to back down. Point after point, the Cougars fought their hearts out, but Cross Timbers managed to squeeze out a nail-biting 15-13 victory.

Player of the Game honors go to Abigail Sauer! Abigail was an absolute BEAST on the court! Whether she was setting, passing, or serving, she was EVERYWHERE, making plays and giving her team everything she had! What an incredible performance to close out the season!

While this was not the ending we had hoped for, we could not be PROUDER of this C team! The Cougars finish the season with an impressive 4-2 record, with BOTH losses coming in hard-fought three-set battles! This team showed tremendous growth, heart, determination, and resilience all season long. They never backed down from a challenge, and their future is incredibly bright!

8th A Team
North’s A team was ready to take on the UNDEFEATED Cross Timbers, and let me tell you, the Lady Cougars did NOT disappoint! North came out absolutely DOMINATING every aspect of the game! Samira Augustine was a BLOCKING MACHINE at the net, shutting down Cross Timbers left and right! Meanwhile, Madison Snelling was delivering some absolutely MONSTER kills that would make any college volleyball team proud! The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders and handed Cross Timbers a 25-21 loss in the opening set!

The second set was an absolute BATTLE! Both teams went back and forth, refusing to give an inch! Lillian Jarmon made an UNBELIEVABLE save to keep a rally alive, while Adelaide Vasquez was a ROCK in the backcourt, delivering consistent passes and outstanding defensive play! Every point mattered, and the intensity was through the roof! Unfortunately, Cross Timbers managed to squeeze out a 26-24 victory to force a third and deciding set!

And let me tell you, SET THREE WAS INSANE! The rallies were incredible, the energy was electric, and both teams were leaving EVERYTHING on the court! North continued to battle against one of the toughest teams in the district, but Cross Timbers was able to pull away and take the final set 15-8.

Player of the Game honors go to Suin Cho! Suin was an absolute FORCE throughout the match! Whether she was delivering from the serving line, making huge blocks at the net, or even stepping up to play back row when her team needed her, she did it ALL! Talk about being a TEAM PLAYER! What an incredible performance!

While the Cougars came up just short, there is SO MUCH to be proud of! North went toe-to-toe with an undefeated Cross Timbers team and showed exactly what they are capable of! The fight, the energy, and the determination were on full display!

Now, ALL EYES ARE ON THE DISTRICT TOURNAMENT! The Lady Cougars are ready, they are hungry, and there is NO DOUBT they are going to bring everything they have! This team has what it takes to make some serious noise, and we cannot wait to
watch them compete!
LET’S GO, LADY COUGARS! FINISH STRONG!

8th B Team
North’s B team took the court looking to finish the season on a high note! While the final result wasn't what the Lady Cougars had hoped for, this team had plenty of moments to be proud of! Cross Timbers came ready to play, but our Cougars were determined to fight until the very last point!

The first set was full of hustle and determination! Berkley Hoerman stepped up BIG from the serving line, putting up FOUR points and helping keep North in the battle! Layla Stevens was an absolute ROCK on the right side, providing consistency and making plays when her team needed her most! Meanwhile, Sofi Gallardo was EVERYWHERE on defense, making incredible plays and refusing to let the ball hit the floor without a fight! Despite some great moments from the Cougars, Cross Timbers was able to take the opening set 25-17.

The second set was another opportunity for North to show its fight! Isabella Johnson stepped up with some great swings at the net, bringing energy and aggression to the Cougars' offense! North continued to work hard and give everything they had, but Cross Timbers ultimately took the second set to win the match.

While this wasn't the ending we had envisioned, one match does NOT define this team or the incredible season they have put together! When you look back at where these girls started and where they finished, the growth has been absolutely AMAZING! From their confidence on the court to their communication, teamwork, and understanding of the game, these Lady Cougars have come SO FAR!

What makes this group special isn't just what they accomplished on the scoreboard. It is the way they showed up, worked hard, pushed themselves, supported their teammates, and continued to get better every single day! There were challenges, tough matches, incredible victories, and plenty of learning moments along the way. Through it all, these girls kept showing up and putting in the work!

As coaches, we could not be PROUDER of this group of young ladies! Watching their development throughout the season has been one of the most rewarding parts of coaching them. The skills they have gained, the friendships they have built, and the confidence they have developed will carry with them far beyond this volleyball season.

To our Lady Cougars, THANK YOU for an incredible season! Thank you for your hard work, your dedication, your positive attitudes, and for representing North with pride! The future of North volleyball is incredibly bright, and we cannot wait to see how much more these athletes accomplish!

7th C Team
Despite the difficult finish, the Lady Cougars showed tremendous growth throughout the season, particularly in the back row. Kinsler Halloway, Claire Ortega, Taryn Hubble, Leah Park, and Arianna Fernandez made significant strides in their defensive skills, gaining confidence and strengthening their understanding of their positions. Their flexibility, coachability, and commitment to making adjustments have helped them continue developing as dependable defensive players.

At the net, the Lady Cougars also demonstrated steady improvement in both offensive and defensive play. Daphne Maciel, Paige Deahl, Maddison Waldron, Madison Miller-Pahl, and Avery Moreno consistently showed eagerness for learning and refining their skills as front-row hitters and blockers. Their willingness to embrace techniques and continue developing their abilities reflected the team's dedication to improving on both sides of the net.

Evelyn Radack and Tia Khatua also made valuable contributions through their work as setters, this season. Both players demonstrated adaptability, determination, and a willingness to work hard throughout the court, continuing to develop their setting skills while finding ways to support their teammates.

A tough final loss doesn't take away from an incredible season—the 7th grade C Team has so much to be proud of! The growth, resilience, and commitment to learning displayed throughout the season have laid a strong foundation for the future. Looking ahead to next year, the team is excited to continue building its skills, strengthening its teamwork, and expanding its volleyball IQ. With a mindset focused on growth and a determination to keep improving, the Cougars are ready to carry the lessons of this season into the next. Thank you ladies for making this a great season & having fun no matter what!
PLAYER OF THE GAME: DAPHNE MACIEL
Daphne had a fantastic game and continues to shine as a leader on the court! Her hitting has improved tremendously, and she continues to refine her approach while building confidence at the service line. Her hard work and growth are making her an increasingly valuable part of the Cougars’ dynamic lineup. Way to go, Daphne! Keep up the great work!
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: AVERY MORENO
Avery earns this week’s honors for her consistency in both practice and game play! She brings a commanding presence to the front row and kept continuous pressure on Cross Timbers with well-placed free balls and smart play. Her positive attitude and steady effort were evident throughout the match. Way to go, Avery! Keep working hard and making an impact for the Cougars!

7th B Team
The Coppell North 7th Grade B team wrapped up their season with a hard-fought two-set loss to Cross Timbers Middle School. Facing a team of equal talent, the Cougars battled during both sets but ultimately fell short in securing the victory. Struggles with serve receive proved to be the decisive factor, with passing consistency falling short of the team's usual standard.

Over the course of the season, the Lady Cougars made significant leaps in defense and overall volleyball IQ. Back-row defenders Lana Lester, Avantika Suresh, Isabelle Mota, Scarlett DeLaRosa, Annie Nguyen, Avery Carpenter, and Mia Reveruzzi steadily refined their positioning, confidence, and adaptability. Up front, Julia Hamon, Charlotte Britt, Sophia Wilkins, Annie Nguyen, and Mia Reveruzzi developed a strong net presence through disciplined hitting and blocking, while Avery Carpenter provided versatile leadership as setter.

Though the season ended in a tough loss, the North Cougars have plenty to celebrate. Every match served as a building block for technical skill, court awareness, and team unity. With a solid foundation in place, the team enters the offseason eager to refine their skills, elevate their chemistry, and return next year ready to compete at an even higher level. We are very proud of this group! They have proven that setbacks are opportunities to grow, and they are ready to turn every lesson into motivation for the future. Next year as 8th graders, the Lady Cougars will return with bigger goals, stronger skills, and the same fearless heart that makes them a team to watch! This group of ladies are already setting their sights on next season!
PLAYER OF THE GAME: AVANTIKA SURESH
Avantika was outstanding in the back row! This week her serves set her team up for back to back points! Her relentless hustle, consistency, and ability to read the court and know where to be made a big impact on the game. She works hard, stays focused, and sets a great example for her teammates. Way to go, Avantika! Keep it up!

NORTH’S A TEAM TAKES ON UNDEFEATED CROSS TIMBERS IN A THRILLER!

North’s A Team faced a big challenge against the undefeated Cross Timbers Wolves, and the Lady Cougars showed up ready to FIGHT! After a slow start, North found its rhythm and played some of the best volleyball we’ve seen from this team all season! With lineup adjustments and tough competition over the last few games, these girls are finding their groove, building confidence, and showing NO signs of slowing down!

Aubrey Mechsner, Juju McGill, and Ava Varela delivered key kills that helped shift the momentum in North’s favor. The Cougars came out of their shell, started playing with confidence, and showed what they are capable of when they trust themselves and each other. Serve-receive struggles and service errors put us at a disadvantage, but the girls continued to battle and find ways to compete!

The second set started with North in control, building an eight-point lead against the Wolves. Juju McGill delivered FIVE CONSECUTIVE ACES, giving the Cougars a huge boost of momentum and confidence! Cross Timbers fought back, and after North used both timeouts at 12–19, the girls refused to give up. Aubrey Mechsner was ALL OVER THE COURT, making big plays and doing whatever it took to keep North in the fight!

Ariana Bowen, Karoline Kitchen, and Sophia Shababian stepped up with strong serve-receive passing and outstanding defensive efforts. The intensity was high, every point mattered, and the girls continued fighting for every ball! Although Cross Timbers ultimately came away with the win, I could not have been prouder of the way our girls responded, fought back, and showed the kind of volleyball I know they are capable of playing. We are finding our rhythm at just the right time, and we are READY to show up and compete at the District Tournament next week!

Though we came up short on the scoreboard, the way these girls played told a much bigger story. I'm amazed by their growth, grit, and determination every time they step on the court. Their hustle, their resilience, and their willingness to fight for every point make me so proud. I'm proud of each and every one of you, not just for how hard you play, but for how far you've come, how you keep pushing yourselves, and the heart you bring to the team.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: AUBREY MECHSNER!
Aubrey was absolutely amazing throughout the match! From serving tough to making big plays at the net and coming up with outstanding defensive efforts, she made an impact in every part of the game. Her consistency, determination, and leadership helped keep the Cougars competing at a high level from start to finish. She continues to show up for her teammates and do whatever the team needs. Way to go, Aubrey!
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: CHARLOTTE FLOREN!
Charlotte was UNFAZED by the competition! She is coachable, smart, and does an excellent job reading the ball and understanding the game. I was especially impressed by her calmness and focus throughout the match—qualities she consistently brings to practice, too. Stepping into the setter position can be challenging, especially against an undefeated team, but Charlotte handled the adjustment beautifully! She trusted what she has learned, stayed composed, and executed her job with confidence. I could not be more proud of her willingness to step up and do what the team needed. Way to go, Charlotte!

This team is growing, gaining confidence, and learning to trust one another more with every match. We are building momentum at exactly the right time, and I cannot wait to see these girls take the court at Districts!
LET’S GO, LADY COUGARS! IT’S TIME TO FINISH STRONG!
