The North Cougar Football team opened play last Tuesday night against the Wilson Wildcats. The 7th grade teams played at North with the 8th grade teams playing on the road. In the 7B game the Cougars played hard but fell behind early before coming back on a 22 yard TD pass from Santiago Saturno to Max Lopez. Sehej Mehta had a nice 50 yard TD run called back and the Cougars fell 6-25. In the 7A game Gage De Los Santos found Jackson Floren on a nice 40 yard TD pass but it too was called back. The Cougars fought hard but lost 0-26.
In the 8C game Caiden Baldwin and Brandon Anastacio led the Cougars to a 13-0 shutout of Wilson. Luis Mendez Gil led the defensive charge for North. The 8B game was also tight. Miles Fain and David Clark led the Cougars but they fell just short in a 6-13 defeat. The 8A game was next but Wilson proved to much for a game North team that played hard and Wilson took the win 0-38. Players of the game were O'Marion Mbakwe and Evan Riggs. The Cougars play a 7B game Monday at North at 5pm against Irving and the 8th grade plays Tuesday at Keller MS starting at 5.
