Monday night the North 7th grade Cougar football teams played the East Broncos at the North football field. Both teams won in what was a great night for football. In the B game opener the North defense made a goal line stand, then Diego Sanchez took a handoff 93 yards to start the Cougars off with a 6-0 lead. Later Matias Leon found Okhai Oshionebo on a short pass and Oshionebo took it 49 yards for the score. Brooks Kaiser's PAT made the score 14-0. The defense, led by Asher Siebenmann's INT, played well all night in pitching the shutout. Sanchez added a 64 yard TD run to make the final score 22-0.
In the A game North took the opening kickoff and Gage De Los Santos ran 4 straight times for 59 yards, the last a 5 yard TD run, to stake the Cougars to an 8-0 lead. De Los Santos later found Jackson Floren on a 62 yard TD and Mohamed Ouedraogo's second PAT made it 16-0. De Los Santos would score 3 more times, from 27, 14, and 9 yards out and the Cougars would capture a 36-18 win. Both teams showed great improvement during the season and are looking forward to next year!!
