FINISHING STRONG AS A TEAM

Finishing Strong As A Team

COACH SALERNO & COACH HOOD

The Lady Cougars were thrilled to host the Coppell Middle School West Wranglers on Thursday… starting the night out with a C Team win 36-7. With almost 20 steals and 7 rebounds as a team it was clear the Cougars were on their defensive game. It is always fun to play the crosstown rival, but we are super glad the girls brought their competitive spirits.

The B Team always comes out with loads of energy and Thursday night was no different, scoring 17 points in the first quarter with an overall win against the Lady Wranglers 47-7. Player of the game is Madison Scott, with 12 rebounds and 3 steals she shined in her position and proved that not a single ball was getting passed up by her. The coaching staff is so pleased with how these girls continue to show up each week, be flexible, and are continually trying to learn new things in the game of basketball!

The A Team displayed a uniform effort from each individual, which made it very difficult for West to stop them. Every player scored 4 points or higher, with Kelsey Clark leading the team with 14 points. Sija Bija kept attacking the paint, which dropped the defense and allowed open shots for her team. If you haven’t seen a team that has the “wow” factor, then you haven’t come out to one of our games! To have a team with such talent spread throughout 10 players is pure excitement, and I hope they will consider being a multiple sport athlete at Coppell High School. The Lady Cougars finish her season next week against East at their home court advantage.
