For the final home game of the year North hosted Keller. The first game of the night were the C teams. North and Keller had a close first set but Keller ended up taking the first game. However, your Cougars were able to bounce back and force a third set! North took a 5 to 1 advantage in the third set but Keller fought back but ultimately won the third set. The player of the game goes to Yalini Muthukumar who played an amazing all around game.
Next up were the B teams and North came out with high energy and some great team ball! However, Keller did not want to go down with a fight and found a way to win two straight sets to give them the win. The player of the game goes to Catherine Conger who had some amazing passes and was the clear vocal leader on the court!
Last up were the A teams! Keller came out of the gate on fire but North was able to bounce back and take the lead into the first set. Unfortunately Keller was able to scratch their way back in and was able to win the first set. North had an unfortunate injury during the second set and they were never able to shake it off. Keller took the second set to win the game. The player of the game goes to Lydia Kennington who played great defense and made some incredible passes! Your North Cougars will be in the championship tournament bracket this weekend and are looking to secure a district championship!!
The 7th grade teams traveled to Keller for their final game of the season. The C teams were up first and ready to play! In the first set, the C team fought hard and played incredibly well! Unfortunately they lost the first set 13-25. In the next set, they fell short once again 8-25. We are so proud of how they all played and communicated on the court. The player of the game for C team was Fabiana Dolande-Perez. Fabi was a rockstar and led the team well with communication and encouragement. She was confident and came out of her shell this last game! Great job, Fabi!
Next up were the B teams, prepared to fight! Keller started off hot, but your B team caught up quick with their incredible serves. Unfortunately, they fell short 25-15 in the first set. In the second set, your North Cougars played an incredible game. It was a nail-biter. They once again fell short 22-25. This was the best game this team has played yet! Player of the game for B team was Brynne Rozas. Brynne has been an asset to this team since game 1! She moves well on the court and is confident in her passing ability. She is a friend to all- and a great teammate. Way to go Brynne!
Last up were the A teams, fired up to play! Your A team girls started strong and were confident. They fell short in the first set 21-25 but played their hearts out! It was a back and forth game and a nail- biter. They rocked it!! In the next set, your girls continued to fight hard but again fell short 17-25. Your A team isn’t done yet, and get to continue playing this weekend in their tournament. A team player of the game this week was Emry Holder. From the beginning of the game to the end, Emry was on fire! She moved her feet to get to every ball, and had some incredible hits and serves. She helped lead and encourage her teammates the entire game. We are so proud of how the teams have improved this season and we are sad it’s over. Thank you for a great season everyone!
