The North XC program took to the road to run in the Grapevine MS Invitational Meet on Wednesday, 10/4/23. And despite the travel, North came ready to run!

Once again, the Lady Cougars put on a show in both the 7th and 8th grade races. The North 7th grade squad pulled off a perfect score of 15 as Jaehee Lee, Laurel Story, Finleigh Sanders-Burk, Taylor Meschner, and Jalina Suarez crossed the line in 1st through 5th places. This is quite the rarity in the sport of Cross Country and something these ladies should be very proud of accomplishing! And in the 8th grade race, North also took first place over Colleyville Heritage MS and the host, Grapevine MS. Morgan Proctor took home 1st place for the second meet in a row to pace the Lady Cougars; followed closely by Delanee Mullen and Addison Hamm to secure the victory.

And on the boys side, both teams stepped up their performances in this second meet of the season. The 8th grade Cougars just missed avenging last week's loss to Grapevine by 2 measly points and now have them in their sites for the next time they meet. Colin McGrath led North in this race followed by Raaghav Muralidaran and Madox Ladner to keep that pressure on the Mustangs throughout. Finally, in the 7th grade race, several North runners had strong performances to boost the Cougars to a second place finish; including Subaru Tokita finishing in 6th place overall.

All in all, North is riding high and looks to keep the momentum building as they have reached the halfway point of the season. The next racing action will take place at Andy Brown West on October 18th, 2023. Come on out and cheer on the Cougars to victory!
