North’s soccer squad made the short trip to face crosstown rivals, Coppell Middle School West, and wasted no time making a statement. The A team took the field first and came out on fire, putting on an offensive clinic against the Wranglers.
Jalina Suarez kicked things off with a goal, followed by a dynamic performance from Jaehee Lee, who netted two. Kate McGrath had a standout game, scoring twice and adding an assist. Emmy Anene and Nadia Stanback each contributed an assist, while Izzy Lingenbrink added a goal of her own. Leading scorer Anessha Anand continued her dominant season with two more goals.
Kate McGrath earned Player of the Game honors for her outstanding all-around performance. With an 8-0 lead, the newly implemented mercy rule was enacted, sealing a decisive win for North.
Not to be outdone by their A team counterparts, North’s B team stepped onto the field with confidence and left with an equally impressive 8-0 victory over Coppell Middle School West, once again invoking the mercy rule.
Bryce Wilson got the scoring started with a goal, while assists came from Paula Arconada, Olly Anene, and Fatima Coria. Finleigh Sanders led the offensive charge with two goals, earning Player of the Game honors for her clutch performance, including a game-sealing strike.
Angie Nguyen also had a strong showing with a goal and two assists, while Renata Lara and Ella Walther each added a goal, with Walther also tallying an assist. Angelica Bennett rounded out the scoring with two goals of her own.
It was a full-team effort as the B team matched the energy and excellence of the A team, securing a clean sweep for North on the road.
