The North 8th grade boys basketball team continued its strong start to the season with an impressive 55–28 victory over Colleyville, showcasing aggressive defense and balanced scoring to improve to 2–0 heading into Winter Break.
North set the tone early, using an up-tempo style on both ends of the floor. Their full-court press kept constant pressure on Colleyville, forcing turnovers and creating scoring opportunities. That intensity paid off in the opening quarter, as North jumped out to a 13–4 lead.
The second quarter was more competitive, with Colleyville working hard to stay within reach. Despite the Colts’ efforts, North maintained control of the game and carried a 26–16 advantage into halftime.
Coming out of the break, North took complete control. The Cougars dominated the third quarter, outscoring Colleyville 21–6 behind strong defensive stops and efficient offense. By the end of the period, North had built a commanding 47–22 lead.
With the outcome firmly in hand, North continued to play with energy in the fourth quarter, ultimately closing out the game with a 55–28 win.
Mason Hotle and Liam Dow led the Cougars with 10 points each, while Damien Triggs made a major impact inside, finishing with 9 points and an impressive 12 rebounds. The win was truly a team effort, as every player contributed, scored, and provided a spark throughout the game.
North heads into Winter Break undefeated at 2–0, carrying strong momentum into the next stretch of the season.
