B Team Locks Down West for Gritty Win

B team earned a hard-fought win against the West Wranglers in a defensive battle that stayed close from start to finish.

North edged ahead early, leading 7–6 after a tight first quarter. West responded in the second quarter, pulling in front and taking a 13–11 lead into halftime. Scoring was tough to come by in the third quarter, but strong defense kept the Cougars within striking distance as they trailed just 15–14 heading into the final period.

The fourth quarter belonged to North’s defense. The Cougars held West scoreless in the final frame, making key stops and turning defense into offense. North did just enough on the scoring end to pull ahead and secure an 18–15 victory.

Christian Bennet led the Cougars with 5 points, while Emi Salas added 4. The win highlighted North’s effort, focus, and defensive intensity in a true team performance.

A Team Rallies Past West, Improves to 4–0

The North Cougars A team earned another impressive win, battling past the West Wranglers in an exciting, back-and-forth contest.

North came out firing in the first quarter, jumping to a 17–9 lead behind strong early performances from Mason Hotle, Damian Triggs, and Eli Smith. West answered in the second quarter with a big run of their own, storming back to take a 29–23 lead into halftime.

The Cougars quickly regrouped after the break and flipped the momentum in the third quarter. Led by Garrison Gamet, who scored 9 points in the period, North surged ahead and carried a 43–36 advantage into the fourth. The final quarter featured plenty of action on both ends, but the Cougars stayed composed down the stretch and closed out a 61–55 victory.

Mason Hotle led North with 20 points, while Garrison Gamet added 15 points, all coming in the second half. With the win, the Cougars improved to 4–0 on the season and now set their sights on a highly anticipated showdown with the East Broncos next week.

Late Basket Lifts C Team Past West

The North Cougars C team battled through a dramatic matchup against the West Wranglers, earning a thrilling win in the closing moments.

North started strong, taking a 7–4 lead after the first quarter. The Cougars built on that momentum in the second period, using balanced offense and solid defense to stretch their lead to 21–10 by halftime. North continued to control the game in the third quarter, outscoring West 10–2 and carrying a commanding 31–12 advantage into the final frame.

The fourth quarter took a surprising turn as West mounted a big comeback, scoring enough to tie the game late. With the pressure on, the Cougars stayed composed. Jackson Dunagan delivered the decisive basket in the closing moments, sealing a hard-earned 33–31 victory for North.

Gautham Muresh led the Cougars with 14 points, while Juan Murcia added 5. The win highlighted North’s strong start, resilience, and ability to finish under pressure.
