North Cougars Dominate the Wranglers, 8–1
The Coppell Middle School North Cougars delivered an impressive performance against Coppell Middle School West (Wranglers), securing a decisive 8–1 victory in a match played with 25-minute halves. The Cougars combined early attacking pressure with strong defensive play to take control of the game and never looked back.
The scoring opened early when, just four minutes into the match, Graham Burgess delivered a well-placed assist to Ryker Allen, who found the back of the net to give the Cougars a 1–0 lead. The Wranglers responded shortly after with a bending shot that slipped past Brooks Ford, who managed to get a touch but couldn’t keep it out, tying the game at 1–1.
North quickly regained momentum. Around the six-minute mark, Emiliano Salas connected with Sergio Exposito Perez for his first goal of the night. Just two minutes later, Sergio struck again, putting the Cougars ahead 3–1. As the first half wound down, Juan Murcia delivered a key assist to Sergio, who completed his hat trick with two minutes remaining in the half, sending North into halftime with a commanding 4–1 lead.
In the second half, the Cougars continued to create opportunities. A penalty kick opportunity was denied by the West keeper, but North stayed aggressive. Goalkeeper Crosby Grizzle made a highlight-reel save midway through the half, preserving the Cougars’ lead and shifting momentum back in their favor. Great hustle plays made by Graham Burgess to continue Cougar possession.
The offense continued to roll as Diego Cuberos found the net with 13 minutes remaining. Shortly after, Sergio added his fourth goal of the night, showcasing his finishing ability. With five minutes left, Emiliano recorded another assist, helping extend the lead even further. The final goal came off a quick through ball from Ben Peiffer to Sergio, who capped off an incredible performance with his fifth goal of the match.
The Cougars’ complete team effort—highlighted by strong midfield play, solid ????, and standout goalkeeping—led to a dominant 8–1 victory. North continues to show growth, chemistry, and confidence as the season progresses.
B team took on the West B team and my notes showed that they scored a goal and that is it.
