8th C TEAM
North was ready to defend its home court in its first home game of the season, and the energy was there from the very first serve!

North came out aggressive and confident, making big plays all over the court. Aspen Bingham got the crowd going with a beautiful back-row attack, Ana Paula Jugo hammered home a great kill, and Elliot Jones was serving up aces left and right! Colleyville refused to go away quietly, pushing North all the way to the finish, but North stayed composed and battled out a thrilling 26-24 first-set victory.

After the close opening set, North made sure the second one would not be nearly as dramatic. They took control early and never looked back, dominating Colleyville 25-11 to close out the match in convincing fashion!

Grace Croley led the offensive attack with 4 kills, while Abigail Sauer put on a master class at setter, consistently putting her hitters in great positions to score. Brooklyn Vaughan earned Player of the Game honors after an outstanding defensive performance at libero, making plays all over the back row and helping keep North in control throughout the match.


8th A TEAM
Set 1
North jumped out to a quick lead in Set 1, with Lily Bordelon serving aggressively from the end line. The momentum quickly shifted in Colleyville’s favor, however, as North struggled with serve receive and defensive coverage. Samira Augustine stopped the Colts’ run with a kill, forcing a sideout and bringing the score to 3-7.
After another quick Colleyville sideout, North needed to regroup. Myla Mott answered with a right-side kill to close out the next rally. Several Cougar errors allowed the Colts to extend their lead to 5-12 before Mott ended the run with a middle kill, putting Maddie Snelling on the serving line.
A forced error ended the Cougars’ possession, but a long serve by Colleyville gave Mott another opportunity at the service line. During Mott’s three-point serving stint, middle blocker Suin Cho recorded a kill from the middle. Cho and Snelling also teamed up for impressive and consistent back-row coverage. However, continued Cougar errors pushed the score to 12-18 in favor of the Colts.
Following a sideout, Clara Champagne stepped to the service line and immediately recorded an ace. Despite some strong moments late in the set, too many passing, serving and attacking errors kept North from closing the gap, and Colleyville took Set 1, 25-19.
Set 2
Set 2 started strong for the Cougars, with Mott winning a joust at the net, followed by an outside kill from Snelling. The two teams traded points early before a double-contact call, an ace and a net violation gave Colleyville some momentum and pushed the score to 4-8.
A Colleyville service error gave North renewed energy, and with Cho serving and Augustine and Champagne teaming up for a strong double block, the Cougars fought their way back to 8-9. A Colts kill, however, returned the serve to Colleyville.
North then struggled with serve receive and defensive coverage, allowing the Colts to go on a nine-point run and extend their lead to 8-18. Augustine stopped the run with a solo block, giving the Cougars another opportunity to battle back.
Bordelon immediately delivered an ace from the service line, giving North some offensive momentum, but a Colleyville line kill ended her serving stint. The Cougars then found themselves rattled in serve receive, allowing the Colts to record three consecutive aces.
Augustine came up with another block to stop the run, but North faced a 11-24 deficit. The Cougars continued to fight, with Champagne maintaining pressure from the service line and Snelling adding two more outside kills. Colleyville ultimately secured match point with an outside kill, taking Set 2, 25-14.
Player of the Game
Six-rotation player Maddie Snelling earned Player of the Game honors. Snelling passed a 2.2 for the match while recording 5 kills and 2 blocks. Maddie continues to be a steady leader for the Cougars, providing consistent defensive play, reliable serve receive and an aggressive presence at the net.


8th B TEAM
North’s B Team took the court next looking to add another win to the night, and they gave the crowd an absolute battle.

The opening set went back and forth from start to finish, with both teams trading points before Colleyville narrowly escaped with a 25-21 win. North responded exactly how you would want them to, showing plenty of fight and bouncing back to take an exciting second set 25-23 and force a deciding third set.

North continued to battle, but Colleyville was able to pull away in the final set and take it 15-7. Even with the loss, there were plenty of standout performances throughout the match.

Layla Stevens was consistent in the front court, mixing in smart dumps over the blockers and helping set the tone offensively. Sophia Shortino came up huge at the net with two incredible blocks, while Mica Ramos-Cho continued to be a constant force, contributing in every rotation and making plays all the way around. Berkley Hoerman delivered some impressive swings, and Kaylan Brown led the team offensively with 4 kills.

Player of the Game honors went to Isabella Johnson, who seemed to be everywhere. Whether she was blocking at the net, attacking, or locking things down in serve receive, Isabella made her presence felt throughout the entire match.

It was a night filled with big swings, huge blocks, tough serves, incredible defense, and plenty of fight from North. A strong showing in the first home match of the season and plenty to be excited about as the season continues!



7th C TEAM
The North Lady Cougars showcased unwavering heart on the court Thursday, falling in a tough two-set battle (17-25, 12-25) against the Colleyville Lady Colts squad. Though the final scores didn't go their way, the Cougars fought for every single point from start to finish.

Defense was the backbone of Coppell North's effort. Claire Ortega and Taryn Hubble held down a mighty back row, consistently breaking down Colleyville’s tough serves and keeping rallies alive. Kinsler Halloway stepped up in a big way, relentlessly covering the court to salvage out-of-system passes and keep her team in the fight.

The highlight of the match came from the baseline, where Evelyn Radack proved to be an absolute force. Radack dominated with her serve, placing relentless pressure on the Lady Colts and sending their backline into a scramble to return the ball.

While Colleyville ultimately claimed the victory, the Lady Cougars demonstrated grit and resilience that will undoubtedly serve them well in the matches ahead. For her standout dual-threat plays, Evelyn Radack was named Player of the Game, as a premier setter and clutch server. Player of the Week goes to Claire Ortega for her continuous leadership within her team!


7th B TEAM
The Coppell North Cougars put up a heart-pounding fight on the court at their first home game, ultimately falling short to the Colleyville Colts in a competitive three-set match (25-23, 12-25, 9-15). Despite the tough loss, the energy inside the gym was electric as a roaring crowd cheered the Cougars through every rally.

Coppell North set the tone early in a nail-biting first set victory. Avantika Suresh and Annie Nguyen anchored the backline with flawless passing that kept the offense in rhythm. Setter Charlotte Floren showcased precision, delivering beautiful, hit-ready sets to fuel the team's attack.

Lona Lester brought relentless pressure, sparking powerful serves with back-to-back aces, sparking a gain in points for the Cougars. At the net, Mia Reveruzzi and Julia Hamon shut down return plays by hammering powerful kills.

Mia Reveruzzi’s unstoppable net play earned her Player of the Game honors, as her sheer power and energy kept the Cougars battling until the final whistle. While Colleyville surged ahead in the final two sets to seal the match, Coppell North’s grit and teamwork proved they are a force to be reckoned with this season! Player of the Week goes to Sophia Wilkins for her continuous efforts to help with anything her team needs on & off the court!


7A TEAM
?? Cougars vs. Colts — Home Opener! ??
The Cougars took on the Colts for our first home game of the season! The competition was high, and the Cougars worked hard to keep up with the Colts’ offensive game. Although North fell short on the scoreboard, their performance was impressive across the board. The girls showed incredible intensity, determination, and grit from start to finish!
In the first set, the Cougars fell short, 14–25. The second set saw multiple lead changes between both teams, with the final score ending 13–25. Gillian Gamet was all over the court, making plays and giving full effort. She stood out with exceptional serve receive and defense! Allie Ford was amazing at the net, coming up with several blocks in set two and battling hard for every point. Aubrey Mechsner, our outside hitter, setter, and team captain, was a consistent force on offense, delivering solid swings and steady serve receive. She continued to lead by example throughout the match. Player of the Game: Penelope Meza! Our libero played lights out! Penelope was everywhere on the court, making big defensive plays, chasing down balls, and refusing to give up on a single point. Her effort and energy were incredible! Player of the Week: Ariana Bowen! Ariana is focused, a great listener, and fully present every day. Her commitment, attitude, and willingness to learn continue to make a difference!
The score may not have reflected the way we played, but I could not be more proud of the intensity, effort, and grit these girls showed. Keep working, keep fighting, and keep believing, Cougars! ????
