On Monday evening, the North 7th grade football team found themselves looking ahead to one their most anticipated games of the year... traveling to take on crosstown rivals from CMS East! The energy was high as both teams looked to find a win over the other.

Unfortunately for the Cougars though, the night belonged to East. In the A game, East quickly pushed the ball down the field to score and take an 8-0 lead. They followed that up by picking off a short North pass and returned that for a Pick 6 TD; pushing the score to 14-0. And when it rains, it pours sometimes... and East was able to keep up the pressure and strong play to lead 30-0 at the half. North held their own and showed some grit in the second half despite the disappointing circumstances and were able to manage the Bronco attack with more success. But in the end, it was East claiming bragging rights with a 36-0 victory to start the night.

Turning to the second game of the night, the North B team was looking to avenge their teammates. And the effort was evident as they played a much tighter game. Holding East to a single TD in the first quarter, North was poised to move the ball and tie up the game. However, with weather looming, East was able to punch in a second score to lead 14-0 at the half. And when the weather alert sounded during the break, the game was called for safety protocols and North found themselves coming up a little short in this rivalry once again.
