8th C TEAM
North hosted Heritage and came out ready to battle! Abby Sauer got North started quickly from the service line, helping build an early 5–0 lead. From there, the first set turned into a back-and-forth battle with both teams fighting for every point.
North had plenty of highlights throughout the set, including a huge back-row attack from Aspen Bingham, strong kills from Ana Paula Jugo and Riley Fletcher, and some outstanding sets from Ameya Shah to keep the offense moving. Heritage was ultimately able to edge out North in a close first set, 25–21.
The second set was another tight one! Sophia Shortino caught fire from the service line, putting together six straight points for North. Breigh Holguin came up with some great passes, while Elliot Jones continued to be a constant force on the court.
?? Player of the Game: Aria Hudiburg
Aria was an absolute beast for North! Her passing was outstanding, her serve receive was locked in, and she consistently gave North opportunities to stay in rallies and make plays. An incredible all-around performance from Aria!

8th A TEAM
The A team started off Set 1 on fire! Maddie Snelling had 5 kills in Set 1 alone, and Lily Bordelon followed with 3 kills. The team’s passing percentage was 2.1, allowing for a variety of successful and aggressive plays throughout the first set. Myla Mott contributed 6 points from the end line, forcing the Wolves to take a timeout late in the set. With Heritage and North trading points throughout the set, North eventually took control and secured the win with a 25-21 set victory!
The momentum quickly shifted in the second set, with the Wolves jumping out to a 6-0 lead. A multitude of errors by the Cougars allowed Heritage to widen the scoring gap early, taking a 16-3 lead. The lopsided score was not the result of an aggressive Heritage team, but rather a continual run of errors by North. Unfortunately, Set 2 ended in an 11-25 North loss, forcing a third set.
North won the coin toss going into the 3rd set and started the game with the serve. A lost rally moved the scoreboard to 0-2 before Mott was put back on the end line. Another net call gave the ball back to the Wolves, but the two teams traded sideout points for the next two servers before Heritage scored 6 straight points during their 4th rotation. With the score leaning in the Wolves’ favor at 11-7, their 6th and final server closed it out, securing the win 15-7.
?? Players of the Game: Adelaide Vasquez & Clara Champagne
Adelaide Vasquez is one of the liberos for the Cougars. She has consistently improved her passing percentage over the past 7 weeks and had an outstanding performance in defensive coverage last night. 8th B TEAM
North’s B Team came out of the gate on fire! Grace Croley, Mica Ramos-Cho, and Sofi Gallardo were absolutely rolling early, helping North put Heritage away in just six rotations to take the opening set 25–12. Brooklyn Vaughan added a great hit, and Kaylan Brown chipped in with an impressive attack of her own as North controlled the set from start to finish.
The second set opened with Isabella Johnson hammering an amazing kill to get North going. Heritage built a lead, but North continued battling. Berkley Hoerman made an incredible save from way off the court to help cut the deficit to 13–8, and Grace Croley and Brooklyn Vaughan teamed up for a huge double block. North fought all the way to the end but came up just short, 25–19.
That sent the match to a deciding third set, and it was a battle! North’s back row was absolutely everywhere, with Sofi Gallardo, Keira Muliyil, and Kate Chacko picking up ball after ball and keeping rallies alive. Layla Stevens added an amazing kill as North continued fighting point for each point.
The third set stayed tight until the very end, but Heritage was able to pull away late for a 15–12 win.
Even though North came up just short, the effort, hustle, and teamwork were on full display throughout all three sets!
