The Cougars were on the road again this week to face Keller Middle School. Looking to keep their momentum from last week, the Cougars managed to take 2 of 3 games from Keller. The night started off with a nail biter during the C team game. A lot of Cougars chipped in with scoring, with points coming from 9 players. But the biggest shot of the night came from Godson Osuji. The game was tied with about 5 seconds left and Osuji drove the lane and was fouled. With 3 seconds left he drilled a free throw to put the Cougars ahead by one. B team struggled in the free throw department and it was that stat that kept them out of the game most of the night. Tyree Roberson lead the B team with 9 points, but it was not enough to propel the Cougars to a victory. The A team played from behind all night, but stayed focused and kept chipping away at the Keller lead. The first quarter saw the Cougars struggle on offense, going down by 10. But an explosive second quarter and 12-8 run helped the Cougars go into half time down by 3. Another strong, 15-9, run in the 4th quarter put the cougars up for good, 42-39. Isaiah Fleming had a monster game, scoring 24 points and getting to the charity stripe often. Jaiden Patel also chipped in 10 to help the Cougars to victory.
