The North Cougars traveled to Dawson Middle School Wednesday night and dropped 2 of 3 games.
The C team struggled all game with unforced turnovers. The second quarter was the deciding factor with the Dragons going on a 15-2 run that the Cougars just could not over come. Jack Behr lead the team in scoring with 8 points on the night.
The A team played a nail biter of a game. It was a close game the whole way through with neither team extending more than a 6 point lead. Points came from all over the team for the Cougars, with 9 of 10 players contributing. Isaiah Fleming and Crew Davis lead with 9 points each and Tyrell Roberson chipped in 8 of his own. The game came down to a foul with .3 seconds left. The score was tied 50-50 and Dawson heaved a full court pass that their played then attempted a circus shot and was fouled. With no time left, he hit 1 of his 2 free throws to end the game, 51-50.
The B team was the lone win of the evening. Going into half time, they had a 1 point lead over the Dragons. Tyree Roberson then took over and dominated the 3rd quarter, scoring 15 of his 19 points. To go along with his points, Roberson pulled down 11 boards, giving him a double-double on the night. With Roberson's scoring explosion, the Cougars cruised to a ten point victory (43-33). Will Kennington also chipped in 9 points.
