7th Boys Ballers Bring their Brooms!

The 7th grade boys took on Trinity Springs Middle School on Monday night and had a spark right from the start. The C team jumped out to an early lead behind 10 points from Santiago Mendoza, 5 steals from Sebastian Cano, and a whopping 14 rebounds from Ryan Ochei. While the game teetered back and forth a bit, in the end the Cougars were able to jump on top and notch their first victory of the season with a final score of 23-19.

In the second game of the evening, B team rode the momentum and also jumped out fast to get on top of the Titans. With a total team effort, the Cougars applied the pressure and stayed in control. Sam Minteer was solid in a return from injury with 5 points and 4 rebounds; while Rylan Sneed contributed 7 rebounds to lead the team and Caden Mechsner dropped in a team high 9 points on the night. As the final buzzer sounded, North held the lead 21-18 to also leap into the WIN column!

And to cap off the evening, A team was hot from the the tip and never looked back. Zane Nimalaratne was knocking down shots from all over to once again lead the team in scoring with 19 points! JT Hunt also joined in on the fun and dropped in a few 3 Bombs for 6 points. Both Suhoon Cho and Madden Montague owned the boards with 10 and 7 rebounds respectively to further support the cause. And in the end, with a final score of 40-12, A team completed the SWEEP and sent the Titans home defeated.
