This past Friday and Saturday, the 7th grade girls A team attended the North Texas Middle School Madness Basketball Tournament in Grapevine. 12 teams showed up ready to claim the 1st place title.
The Cougars first game on Friday versus Pike ended in a 51-15 win over the Panthers. The Cougars then played against the tournament host, Grapevine Middle School, and secured a spot in the final four by beating the Ponies 42-16. Game 3 was played against Heritage and the Cougars defeated the Broncos 30-10 win, placing North in the Championship game against Southlake Carroll. While the Cougars fell short to the Dragons on the scoreboard (17-29), the level of competition far outweighed anything that the Cougars have matched-up against to date and provided a valuable opportunity to prepare for the future district match-up with Carroll.
All 9 girls played hard offensively and defensively. North is proud to have this group of athletes represent our athletic program. Way to go, Ladies!
