North Athletics | 1/14/2022

The 8th Grade girls hit the road this week for their matchup against Keller Middle School in their first game of 2022! Unfortunately, due to several missing players on both teams, we ended up only playing two games. We appreciate our athletes and parents for being so flexible in the combining of teams this week.

The 8th B/C Team did a fantastic job of combining their two teams last night.. Winning with a final score of 38-14. Players of the game are Kenzi Marlin, a dominant athlete in our program, scoring 13 points… and Ashlyn Porter, for her consistency, and for being someone all posts on our team can look up to.

The 8th A Team was pumped up about their second time seeing Keller this week having played them in our in-season tournament last weekend. Although they fell short, they did a great job executing their various offensive and defensive systems. Player of the game is Avery Shortino, who shot 75% from the free-throw line and scoring 5 points. Nice job, ladies!

This week the 7th Grade Cougars faced Keller this week on our home court. C Team started off strong in a nail biting game, eventually coming out on top with a score of 14-10. Their success can be attributed to their consistent energy and drive. Mia MAgnacca and Avery Fishman showed up as the star players of the night giving 110% from buzzer to buzzer.

7th Grade B Team duked it out with Keller in the second match of the evening. Although they were unable to snag a win they gave Keller a run for their money on the court, putting up a fight every quarter ending the game with a score of 28-22. This week Anna Grace Gauntt showed leadership with her vocality and court awareness, earning her the title of Player of the game.

7th Grade A team finished the night strong with a win, 49-19. This week each player was instrumental in the team’s success and earned the title of Players of the Game. Needless to say their overall game play and court awareness was impressive., showcasing their strengths as a team.
