The CMS North 7th grade boys basketball season came to a close on Saturday. The Cougars entered the Zone tournament as the 5 seed overall and were looking to avenge their first loss of the season against Medlin Middle School. As the game began, both teams took some time to find their groove and feel the opponent out a bit. In doing so, Medlin was able to jump out to an early lead thanks to draining five 3-pointers in the first half. The Cougars tried to fight back and played tough behind Zane Nimalaratne’s 9 points and Suhoon Cho’s 9 rebound performances, but Medlin answered each run that North made to stay in control to earn a 39-27 victory over the Cougars.

On the season, the 7th grade boys displayed a lot of heart and grit on the court and definitely matured with their basketball skills and IQ for the game. Be on the lookout for a scrappy bunch as these boys return next year to represent the Cougars once again!
