7th grade:

Last night your Cougars faced in town rivals Coppell East Broncos! The B teams were up first! The Cougars came out a little slow in the first set but fought back but came up just a little short losing 25-19. The second set East came out ready to play and was able to put away North in two straight sets 25-16. The player of the game goes to Laurel Storey with her non stop effort!

Next up were the A teams and East came out and won the first set 25-14. However, your cougars did not want to lose at home and came out fighting taking East to a third set. North was able to pull away and beat east in the third and final set 15-7, giving Coppell North the crown of City Champs! The Player of the game goes to Emma Rose with an all around great game!

Last up were the C teams and North did not want to lose the series to East, so they needed a win! However, just like the A team, East was able to take a first set victory 25-15 but North came back and won the second series 26-24 to force a third and final set! North did not want to be unshined and they were able to secure a 15-11 victory in the third set to also crown North’s C team as City Champs!!! The player of the game goes to Adalyn Gauntt with her great leadership and amazing passes!

Next week North travels to Cross Timbers so make sure to come out and support!

8th Grade:

8th C team-
Last night the Lady Cougars had a great night of volleyball! 8th grade C played three intense 3 sets and came out with the “W”!! Brennan Ford had a great night with 12 serves and brought a strong offensive game with 12 hitting attempts to help secure the win. She definitely earned Player of the game this week. Alexa Boudreaux ran a 5-1 for the first time and didn’t miss a beat. She had 13 serves and made smart plays at crucial moments. Rachel Howe stepped in to play libero and killed it! She made the best of each play and was an asset to the team.

8th B team-
While the B team match between the Cougars and the Broncos did not go in North’s favor, there were some high points between the 2 sets. Shoutout to Varsha Pazhayidathu for her 9 serves between the 2 sets and successfully stepping into a new role on B team. Player of the game goes to Eraina Wilkins, who had 4 kills, aggressive serves and net play. Eraina is such a hard worker and it showed in her performance last night.

8th Grade A-
The 8th grade A team had multiple roster changes walking into Thursday’s matches. The pressure to perform was stacked against them, but they came out swinging and sealed the win in 2 quick sets (25-16, 25-15). The Cougars remain undefeated in district play with a 3-0 record. Faith Law started off set 1 serving 8 straight points for the Cougars; a lead that the Broncos never recovered from. Emma Hurst played aggressive defense at the net and served consistently from the endline in both sets. Back row play was essential in the A team’s success and alternating between 2 liberos, Morgan Proctor and Narmin Azim, demonstrates the depth on the roster for defensive coverage. All players are awarded player of the game for keeping their energy high, celebrating each rally and pulling together to solidify the win.
