The North 7th grade boys took to the road again on Tuesday night looking to bounce back from a tough week as they took on the Wolves of Cross Timbers Middle School. Despite the frigid weather outside, the action in the gym was just heating up!

As the A game got started, both teams went to work; feeling out their opponent and trying to gain some momentum. In a game that was tight at the half, the Cougars looked to make a run and build a lead after the break. Led by a team high 18 points, Brooks Floren poured in the shots while Kash Hickman added 13 points, 4 steals, and 3 assists on the night. Not to be missed, a trio of Cougars each collected 7 boards along the way: Zavier Kichan, Carter Smith, and Ryan Snelling. In the end, the effort showed as North took the victory by a score of 55-37 to start the night off on the right foot.

In the second game, North's B team also found themselves playing in a tight contest. With the score tied up at 12 after 3 quarters, the question was which team could pull away to get the win. Despite 5 points from Grant Hubble, 4 steals from Ryan Montgomery, and 7 rebounds each from Johnathan Anderson and Ashwath Kolla, the Cougars saw Cross Timbers drop in a couple late 3 pointers to surge ahead. These daggers ended up giving the Wolves the win with a final score of 22-19.

So that led up to the rubber match as both C teams took the court; which program would win the night? The Cougars displayed a lot of energy early and were forcing the Wolves into an onslaught of turnovers, but unfortunately struggled to finish these opportunities at the rim to build a lead. Given the chance, Cross Timbers fought back to eventually take the lead headed into the fourth quarter... and North had some work to do. That's when Josh Baek went to work, finishing the game with 5 points and 4 steals while Siddhant Rawat added 8 rebounds to bolster the Cougars. In what ended up being a low scoring affair, it was North who held the edge with the final score of 14-12 to help the Cougars win 2 out of 3 on the night.

With only a few weeks left in the season, North hopes to continue to stay hot and put themselves in the best position to win the district title. Clap them up and show your support if you get the chance!
