7th GRADE
The 7th grade Cougars took on the West Wranglers in a full night of competition, showcasing resilience, growth, and unforgettable moments across all three teams.
A Team: Growth Through Adversity
The A Team fell to the West Wranglers, 23–33, in a hard-fought contest that tested both composure and resolve. The Cougars struggled to find their rhythm early and faced a difficult third quarter, where West outscored North 11–6 to extend their lead. Although North responded by outscoring the Wranglers in the fourth quarter, the comeback effort came up just short.
While the loss was disappointing, the night provided an important opportunity for humility, reflection, and growth…often where the most meaningful development occurs.
Aspen Bingham delivered in key moments, going 50% from the free-throw line and knocking down two crucial baskets in the fourth quarter. Posts Suin Cho and Lilly Jarmon continued to assert themselves in the paint, using their voices and physicality to battle on both ends of the floor.
Players of the Game honors went to Samira Augustine and Berkley Hoerman. Samira played all but two minutes of the game and anchored North’s Box-and-1 defense, successfully shutting down West’s top scorer. She also contributed offensively, tying for the team-high with 7 points. Berkley Hoerman was relentless on defense, collecting multiple steals and forcing turnovers, while shooting an impressive 75% from the free-throw line and also finishing with 7 points.
The A Team now sits at 3–1 overall, tied for second place in district.
B Team: A Statement Win
The B Team delivered an emphatic response following two overtime losses, securing a dominant 21–2 victory over the Wranglers. The Cougars showcased their growth, chemistry, and confidence in what was nearly a complete defensive shutout.

Breigh Holguin continued her hot shooting streak, sinking a three-pointer for the third consecutive game. Abby Sauer stood out with her court awareness and elevated aggressive play throughout the night.
Players of the Game were Brooklyn Vaughan and Adelaide Vasquez. Brooklyn’s speed continues to set her apart as one of the quickest players in the program, creating havoc on both offense and defense with constant steals and forced turnovers. Adelaide Vasquez played with renewed confidence, leading the defensive effort and serving as a key playmaker on offense.
With the win, the B Team moves to a 2–2 district record.
C Team: A Finish to Remember

With just 25 seconds remaining, Hila Silverman scored the go-ahead basket to put North up by one. The final seconds felt like an eternity as the Cougars fought to close out the game. When the final buzzer sounded, the celebration erupted; so much so that you would have thought North had just won the Final Four, as the entire program stormed the floor in excitement.
Keria Muliyil tied for the game-high with 4 points, while Karissa Hansen calmly knocked down a clutch free throw in the fourth quarter to help close the scoring gap.
Players of the Game honors went to Ellie Zonozy and Hila Silverman. Ellie brings relentless effort every time she steps on the court, consistently giving 100% as a coachable and selfless teammate.
