8th grade:
Last night, C team had a slow start (15-25), but finished out the match winning the last two sets (30-29, 15-7). Parker Storey led the team in passes and her defense helped us secure the win in the 3rd set. Carolina contributed 12 serves throughout the last two sets and played any position that was asked of her with ease. Shreya Shah showed a lot of leadership and consistent assists in all 3 sets. She helped others adjust to changes in the line up and did so with a positive attitude. The Player of the Game works her tail off every single day. She plays any position and remains calm in pressure situations. She played multiple positions and did not miss a beat with 6 hits, contributed 3 crucial serves, and played aggressively the entire match! Way to go Soee Jakhu!!

B Team had a tough first set (17-25). They recovered and played as a team the last two sets (25-20, 6-15). While the outcome was not what we wanted, there are many lessons to be learned from a hard loss.Yena Chae had 8 serves and great serve receive in the last two sets. When she plays with confidence, nothing can stop her. Player of the Game goes to Fabi Figueroa. She had a positive presence on the court, a leader of our team, and had consistent serve receive and defense.

The 8th grade A team struggled to play their game against the Ponies. It is the first match this season that an opponent was underestimated, and therefore, might be one of the greatest lessons learned this season. The match ended with a loss (22-25, 25-16, 13-15) and moved their overall district record to 3-2. Shoutout to Zoey Ponsen and Addison Hamm for their aggressive serves that contrinbuted to 24 rally points. Player of the game is awarded to Narmin Azim, who played as the team libero for the second and third sets and showed consistent back row play in defense, as well as serve receive.
